A classic spring front moving up the country over the past 24 hours created squalls, hail and this spectacular lightning strike in New Plymouth.
The video, captured by Primowireless.co.nz which has a webcam on the TWL Building.
Lightning struck the windwand. The same thing happened to Wellington’s zephyrometer a few years ago.
