This week starts off with high pressure and mostly settled weather, although a few showers are still peppering the East Cape/Gisborne areas to begin with.
A cold front crosses the country on Tuesday PM and clears the North Island early on Wednesday morning leaving a mostly dry Wednesday and Thursday.
By Friday a very large but not overly aggressive low will fill up much of the Tasman Sea and drift in towards the North Island for the weekend. It’s complicated and may still bring big areas of dry and calm weather too. The further south you are the more likely this low later in the week might miss you.

Nice touch to have a written script at the bottom of the video.
This is key for those who can”t hear, or those who may need to mute the sound.
