VIDEO: La Nina returns + Forecast for Queen’s Funeral

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Rainmakers are crossing both NZ and Australia this week with parts of Bay of Plenty expecting over 100mm in the coming days.

Other areas in the north and west of both main islands of NZ may also get 30 to 60mm.

Australia has rain pushing through VIC, TAS, ACT and NSW this week – and just brushing southern parts of QLD. Later in the week WA gets the next spring like windy and wet westerly change.

Despite the rain in NZ and Aussie this week, it’s not really directly connected to the historical third La Nina in a row which has now officially returned (see our lead news story for more details on La Nina). We take a look at the tropics where it’s still looking similar to the past couple of months.

We also take a special look at the forecast for London tonight NZT for the Queen’s funeral.
