A colder change moves into the country on Sunday with a low engulfing NZ by King’s Birthday Monday, bringing westerlies and showers to the North Island and easterlies with rain and showers (and some snow) to the South Island.
The low on Monday is likely to be centred over the middle of the country. It will take until the end of next week to clear away – but then will be replaced by another low pressure zone from the Tasman Sea.
Powerful highs are dominating Australia with many states dry or mainly dry. The tropics has south to south east winds for many (from out of the NZ/Tasman Sea zone).
We have the forecast through to Wednesday next week.
**Don’t forget, our ClimateWatch update for the month of June, the season of Winter + the latest on El Niño, is out today Thursday June 1!
