High pressure is moving into NZ and will bring a slight dip in overnight lows before leaving our shores this weekend and ushering in hot, windy, conditions behind it.
The windy weather this weekend may reach severe gale and with this air coming out of both Australia and the sub-tropics it’s going to be hotter and more humid for a number of places.
It will also drive in West Coast rain and a weak front for the North Island going into Sunday and Monday.
The next 48 hours also sees some wet weather around the north eastern North Island and a few showers in Southland with that cooler airflow.
The south-east of Australia remains just as unsettled as the south of the South Island, with cooler airflows at times off the Southern Ocean.
