VIDEO: Flood concerns for VIC & TAS while NZ has a sub-tropical low this weekend

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Two big highs and two big lows will dominate NZ and Australia’s weather in the coming days with both high pressure zones slowing down both of those lows.

NZ: The sub-tropical low (currently near Tonga) will drift down towards the North Island this weekend – it may brush some regions with wind and rain but still isn’t entirely locked in.

Australia: Significant rain will accumulate over parts of VIC and TAS in the coming days with 150 to 200mm now forecast. One positive is that it blows through by Friday with a windy westerly change and showers behind it. We have special rain accumulation maps.
