Monday kicks off with showers but this week is looking drier for many places, although western parts of the North Island are likely to have small showers off and on this week – still drier than usual for this time of year though. High pressure exits Australia this week and low pressure leaves NZ.
It means milder winds will kick in later this week, ahead of a weak cold front this weekend that may bring a dusting of snow to the ski fields and mountains.
