In this special Sunday update we have the latest on the messy path of Tropical Cyclone Alfred which is looking increasingly likely to make landfall in the central eastern Australia coastline later this coming week.
Those between about Bundaberg (Qld) and Grafton (NSW) should be tracking Alfred’s path closely in the days ahead.
The cyclone has weakened a little – and this week may weaken further before powering up again a little before potential landfall in south-east Qld (maybe even north-eastern NSW).
High pressure south of the cyclone is the main guiding force – we explain why this cyclone isn’t just moving in one line, and why landfall isn’t yet locked in due to a number of “moving parts”.
We’ll have another update on Cyclone Alfred on Monday as we continue to fine tune the likely path.
