A ridge brings mainly settled weather to a majority of New Zealand today, north of about Auckland however a southeasterly airflow brings rain. The East Coast of the North Island brings cloudy areas and the risk of a shower.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with light southeasterly winds for most. Some cloud and the risk of a shower at times for northern Auckland, Great Barrier Island and about the Coromandel. Northland has a fairly cloudy day with rain, especially in the east, breezy southeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any morning cloud clears then sunny with light winds, southeasterlies about coastal Taranaki.
Highs: 9-14

Eastern North Island
Cloudy areas with the risk of a shower or two, mainly right on the coastal fringe. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Wellington
Morning cloud with the risk of a shower then becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon, southeasterly winds fade away.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 11-13

Canterbury
Sunny with light winds tending east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 10-12

West Coast
Sunny for South Westland, North Westland may see some cloud and the risk of a shower during the day. Light winds.
Highs: 11-13

Southland & Otago
Cloudy areas about Southland, may be a shower. Westerly winds a little breezy at times. Otago is mostly sunny with lighter winds.
Highs: 8-11
