A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas and occasional sun, chance of a shower or two. Sunny areas more frequent about the Bay Of Plenty, conditions likely to be drier also however still can’t rule out a shower or two. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy periods with a shower or two possible, many dry areas also. Breezy westerly winds.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island
Sunny, westerly winds may tend a little more southwest for a time in the afternoon. Perhaps even swinging around to the ENE for some coastal fringe parts of Hawkes Bay and Gisborne after midday.
Highs: 17-20

Wellington
Sunny with northerly winds.
High: 17

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with afternoon east to northeast winds about Marlborough, southwesterlies for Nelson.
Highs: 19-20

Canterbury
Sunny skies, afternoon east to northeasterly winds, becoming breezy about the coast.
Highs: 16-19

West Coast
Morning showers then long dry periods from afternoon, still the risk of a shower or two at times. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago
A few morning showers clear for Southland then afternoon sunny spells break through, brisk westerly winds. Otago sees mostly sunny weather generally although there may be some cloud about coastal Otago in the morning, winds from the west or northwest.
Highs: 13-19
