Western North Island (including Central North Island)
For most expect sunny areas and increasing cloud, rain moves in later in the evening. Taranaki sees cloudy skies from morning, chance of a light shower or two during the day then rain later in the evening, possibly heavy. Northerly winds for most, becoming gusty from afternoon about Taranaki.

Eastern North Island
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, spots of rain spreading from the west overnight. North to northwesterly winds pick up after midday.
Highs: 18-19
Wellington
Mostly cloudy with the chance of a shower, overnight rain. Breezy northerly winds.
High: 14
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, chance spot of rain from afternoon then a higher chance of rain later in the evening before easing overnight. Freshening north to northwesterly winds, brisk to strong about the Sounds overnight.
Highs: 15-16
Canterbury
Thickening high cloud with a few spots of evening rain, freshening northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-15
West Coast
Mostly cloudy, rain develops in the afternoon as northeasterly winds freshen. Rain may be heavy for a time in the evening then easing overnight with winds easing.
Highs: 13-14
Southland & Otago
Thick high cloud, any early morning showers clear (mainly about Southland) then in the evening expect some scattered rain for most before clearing overnight. Easterly winds, freshening about the Otago coast.
Highs: 10-13
