A southeasterly airflow affects most of New Zealand today, a front within this flow brings some heavy rain for many North Island regions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Areas of rain, possibly heavy at times but areas of drizzle also. Easterlies freshen.
Highs: 20-26

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Rain with heavy falls, easing in the evening. Gusty east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-17

Eastern North Island

Rain with heavy falls at times, gusty east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

Wellington

Rain, possibly heavy. Gusty southeasterly winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, rain more persistent about the Marlborough Sounds. Breezy east to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-14

Canterbury

Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, easterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

West Coast

Mostly sunny with breezy southeasterly winds, some high cloud about North Westland.
Highs: 16-18

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away, cloud more frequent during the day about the Otago coast. Easterly winds.
Highs: 13-15
