A southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island today, while the South Island has high pressure. It’s mainly settled across the country, although there may be a shower for the North Island’s East Coast and also about parts of Northland.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Early heavy rain eases about northeastern parts of Northland, while eastern parts of Northland see cloudy areas and the chance of a shower during the day. Mainly sunny elsewhere. Light south to southeasterly breezes.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Chance of an early shower otherwise becoming mostly sunny in the morning with southeast breezes.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island

Cloudy periods with southerly breezes and the chance of a shower in the afternoon / evening, otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Becoming mostly sunny in the morning. Southerlies die out later in the day.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Sunny with light east to northeasterly breezes.

West Coast
