A west to northwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, fairly cloudy in the west with the odd shower about. The East Coast is mainly sunny.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas with light west to southwesterly winds, a mainly sunny day for the Bay Of Plenty with some cloud there in the evening.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Becoming mostly cloudy about Taranaki in the morning, mostly cloudy elsewhere in the afternoon. Some sun before becoming mainly cloudy. A few showers move in overnight. West to northwest winds.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island

A sunny day with light winds, tending northwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-18

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northwest winds.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson

A mainly sunny day with west to northwest winds.
Highs: 16-17

Canterbury

Sunny with light winds tending northwest, inland expect breezy northwesterly winds.
High: 15-16

West Coast

Mostly cloudy with west to southwest winds, showers about South Westland and mainly dry further north although the risk of a shower or two is there. Overnight showers are more likely for North Westland with rain further south.
Highs: 10-13

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and some high cloud with breezy northwesterly winds, light about coastal Otago. Overnight rain with a southwest change.
Highs: 12-15
