A weak ridge of high pressure lies over the North Island this morning which weakens further this afternoon, for the South Island we see an area of low pressure form to the east while a southerly change pushes northwards along the east coast.

Cloudy areas with light winds this morning then expect afternoon sea breezes. A few early morning showers clear about the Waikato.

Sunny areas and some high cloud. About Taranaki and the Central North Island, chance of an early morning shower any of which clear away then expect some sun. Cloud builds a little in the afternoon bringing the chance of a shower or two. Light winds tend westerly by midday for most.

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather and some high cloud, northeasterly winds.
A mainly sunny day with northwesterly winds, winds change gusty southerly this evening bringing increasing cloud and the chance of a late shower.

Mainly sunny with light winds, southerlies freshen this evening about Marlborough bringing increasing cloud.
Mainly sunny with light winds, some morning low cloud about parts of Mid and South Canterbury. Southerly winds pick up from this afternoon bringing increasing cloud and the odd shower by evening especially about inland areas.
Morning cloud with the odd shower then sunny areas develop this afternoon, southwesterly winds develop.

West to southwest winds freshen this morning about Southland bringing cloudy areas and the chance of a shower or two. Winds pick up about Otago around midday bringing similar weather then cloud gradually breaking away.
