A westerly quarter airflow lies over the country today bringing cloudy skies to the west and mainly sunny weather out east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Becoming mostly cloudy in the morning, the Bay Of Plenty sees sunny areas however. West to Sou’Westerly breezes.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Becoming mostly cloudy in the morning, westerly quarter winds.
Highs: 14-16

Eastern North Island

A mainly sunny day, light winds may tend southwest for a time in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-19

Wellington

Sunny areas with Nor’Westerly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas and some high cloud, light winds tend northwesterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-22

Canterbury

Some high cloud and any spots of rain then clearing to a mainly sunny afternoon, light winds near the coast and northwesterlies inland.
Highs: 19-21

West Coast

Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

A few morning spots of rain clear about Southland and Central Otago, cloud breaks to sunny areas for most by midday. Breezy northwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-19
