A front moves off the top of the South Island this morning and over the North Island this afternoon and evening, with it comes rain for most more so in the west. The South Island sees most regions becoming clearer however Canterbury sees showers, possibly heavy this morning then clearing during the afternoon.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Areas of rain from morning, becoming heavier in the afternoon and evening then easing around midnight as breezy northwest winds change southwest.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy with rain, possibly heavy in the afternoon. Rain clears later in the evening as breezy northwesterlies change southwest.
High: 12-14

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with spells of rain spreading at times from the west, winds breezy from the northwest. During the evening a southwest change sweeps northwards, showers clear overnight.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Morning rain then easing to showers around midday as northwesterly winds change southerly.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

A few morning spells of rain clearing then becoming mostly sunny, breezy northwesterly winds. Late afternoon or evening a few showers move through again as winds tend southerly.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Showers, possibly heavy with a chance of hail developing in the morning then clearing in the afternoon with sunny areas developing. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10

West Coast

Morning showers then sunny areas increase in the afternoon, southwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-12

Southland & Otago

Morning showers clear then expect sunny areas with westerly winds. Further showers again later in the evening about Southland.
Highs: 9-12
