A cold south to southwesterly airflow lies over the country today, mainly dry although a few showers could affect the east of the North Island and the lower South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with breezy south to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny, morning showers clear about Palmerston North southwards however then sunny areas break through after midday. Southwesterly winds ease.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island

Cloudy areas with showers at times right on the coast, some places tucked in away from the coast like Napier and Hastings may have a mainly dry day. Winds breezy and cold from the southwest.
Highs: 12-13

Wellington

Sunny areas with breezy southerly winds, cloud gradually increases from afternoon.
High: 11

Marlborough & Nelson

A mainly sunny day with a touch of evening cloud about Marlborough, light southwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury

A mostly sunny morning then some afternoon cloud as southwesterlies pick up for a time.
High: 11

West Coast

A mainly sunny day, light south to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-11

Southland & Otago

Westerly winds with cloudy areas, sun more frequent in inland areas. Chance of shower or two early afternoon otherwise dry.
Highs: 9-11
