A ridge brings fairly settled weather to the North Island and parts of the upper South Island today, a fair amount of cloud about however. A front over the lower South Island brings patchy rain or drizzle.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and some cloud, light winds. Fog possible morning and night for inland areas.
Highs: 21-23

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Areas of cloud and sunny spells, chance of a brief shower or two in the afternoon. Inland areas could see fog morning and night. Light winds.
Highs: 19-21

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas and some cloud with light northeasterlies.
Highs: 19-20

Wellington

Mostly cloudy with light northwesterlies.
High: 17

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy with light winds.
Highs: 18-19

Canterbury

Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, more so in South and Mid Canterbury,
drier further north perhaps till evening. Light winds.
High: 14

West Coast

Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, light northerly winds. Areas of rain
more likely about Fiordland.
Highs: 16-17

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy with patchy rain or showers, light winds. Southland becoming drier in the afternoon however areas of cloud remain.
Highs: 13-15
