A ridge of sorts moves over the country today while a southwesterly airflow eases further, fairly settled for most although there could be a remaining shower or two about. Southland sees a few showers this afternoon.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and some cloud, chance of a shower mainly afternoon otherwise dry. The Bay Of Plenty is looking mostly sunny during the day. West to southwest winds.
Highs: 22-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas and some cloud, westerlies tend southerly later in the evening.
Taranaki has southwesterly winds for much of the day.
Highs: 20-22

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas and a few clouds about, southerlies tend more easterly in the
afternoon.
Highs: 20-21

Wellington

Sunny areas and some cloud, light southerly winds.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Mainly sunny conditions, north to northeasterly winds from afternoon.
Highs: 20-22

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to afternoon sunny areas, southerlies tend easterly
after midday.
High: 16

West Coast

Sunny areas and a few clouds about, gentle west to southwest winds.
High: 18

Southland & Otago

Cloud periods about Southland with a few showers passing through, mainly in
the afternoon. Sunny areas for Otago. Westerly quarter winds.
Highs: 16-18
