Mainly settled over the South Island today, easterly winds pick up along the east coast however. Chance of an isolated shower for some inland areas also late afternoon / evening. The North Island sees easterly winds, getting fairly gusty about the far north.

Cloudy with patchy showers / rain, brisk to strong easterly winds.
Highs: 19-20

Auckland

Cloudy with brisk to strong easterly winds, chance of a shower mainly in
the north and a higher risk for GBI. Overnight winds becoming strong with a risk
of gales, mainly in exposed eastern areas. The risk of showers goes up a bit
too.
High: 20

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny spells with breezy east to southeast winds, cloud thickens towards
evening.
High: 21

Waikato

Sunny areas and increasing cloud with breezy easterlies.
High: 22

Central North Island

Mostly sunny with easterly winds, some high cloud gradually moves in.
High: 22

Eastern North Island

Periods of cloud and occasional sunny spells, east to northeast
winds.
Highs: 18-19

Western North Island

Sunny with easterly winds, late high cloud possible. Winds tend northwest
in the afternoon about northern Taranaki.
High: 23-24

Wellington

Sunny with easterly winds, late high cloud possible.
High: 22

Nelson

Sunny, afternoon northerly winds then easing later in the evening. Warmer
temperatures inland with lighter winds.
Highs: 21-25

Marlborough

Sunny with easterly winds. Warmer temperatures inland with lighter
winds.
Highs: 22-24

Canterbury

Sunny with easterly winds picking up in the afternoon, lighter winds inland
with warmer temperatures. Isolated showers possible about inland areas
especially inland Mid and South Canterbury late afternoon / evening.
Highs: 19-24

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon sea breezes near the coast. Warm
to hot temperatures for some inland areas i.e. Reefton.
Highs: 20-28

Coastal Otago

Sunny with easterly winds, picking up in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-19

Central Otago

Mostly sunny with light winds, chance of a late afternoon / evening
isolated shower otherwise dry.
Highs: 27-29

Southland

Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon sea breezes near the coast. Late
afternoon / evening some cloud builds inland with the chance of an isolated
shower. Warmest temperatures inland.
Highs: 20-24
