A weak area of low pressure brings isolated showers to some upper North Island regions today, sunny spells increase in the south. For the South Island conditions are mainly settled, southerlies freshen up along the east coast in the afternoon then some late cloud moves in.

Northland

Periods of cloud with the chance of a shower about, mainly late afternoon / evening. Light winds.

Highs: 17-18

Auckland
Periods of cloud and the odd sunny spell, isolated showers possible at times during the day. Light
winds.

Highs: 17-18

Bay Of Plenty

Periods of cloud, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening.
Light winds.

High: 17

Central North Island & Waikato

Periods of cloud and the odd shower about, mainly late afternoon / evening
with the chance of a heavy fall. Light winds.

Highs: 16-18

Eastern North Island

Any early showers clear, cloud breaks around midday with sunny spells
increasing. Southerly winds.

High: 14

Taranaki

Morning rain eases then clears, becoming mostly sunny by midday. South to
southeasterly winds.

Highs: 16-17

Western North Island

Any early showers clear then becoming mostly sunny by midday,
southeasterlies ease later in the day.

High: 15

Wellington

Any early showers clear then becoming mostly sunny by midday, southerly
winds gradually ease.

High: 14

Nelson

Any early morning cloud clears to mostly sunny weather, light winds tend
northeast in the afternoon.

Highs: 15-16

Marlborough

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, southeasterly winds
ease.

Highs: 15-16

Canterbury

Sunny in the morning with light winds, southerlies freshen early afternoon.
Some late cloud.

Highs: 16-17

West Coast

Sunny with light winds, some morning cloud Westport northwards
clears.

Highs: 15-16

Coastal Otago

Periods of cloud with fresh westerlies tending southwest in by
midday.

High: 15

Central Otago

Mostly sunny with light winds at first, south to southwesterly winds
freshen by late morning.

Highs: 15-16

Southland

Mostly cloudy with the odd brief shower at times, westerlies tend southwest
during the morning.

Highs: 12-13
