A ridge brings mainly settled weather to the South Island today, areas of morning cloud in the east however. Breezy south to southeasterly winds for the North Island, mostly sunny in the west, cloudy from Gisborne through to the Wairarapa with periods of rain.

Any early morning cloud clearing to mostly sunny weather, southerly
winds.

Bay Of Plenty

Morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, breezy south to southeasterly
winds.
High: 17

Waikato & Central North Island

Morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, breezy southeasterly
winds.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island

Periods of rain with breezy southeasterlies, rain eases overnight.
High: 13

Western North Island

Mostly sunny, morning cloud clears about Taranaki. Breezy southeasterly
winds, gusty about Taranaki.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Mostly sunny with southeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
High: 15

Marlborough

Chance of some early drizzle, cloud breaks to sunny spells by midday. East
to southeast winds.
High: 14

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, easterly winds freshen up in the
afternoon especially near the coast.

West Coast

Sunny with light winds.
