An anticyclone centred east of New Zealand extends a ridge over much of the country today, winds will generally be light for all with morning cloud for many breaking to sunny spells.

Northland

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon east to southeast breezes. Chance of some early fog then possibly forming again at night, especially inland.

Highs: 22-24

Auckland

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon sea breezes. Chance of some early fog then possibly forming again at night.

High: 24

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Morning low cloud or fog clears then mostly sunny with light winds tending
westerly in the afternoon. Mostly sunny about the Bay Of Plenty with the chance
of an early fog patch, winds tend northerly in the afternoon.

Highs: 23-25

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny after morning cloud clears, light winds at first then
afternoon east to northeast winds.

Highs: 21-23

Western North Island

Morning low cloud or fog clears to a mostly sunny day, light winds. Winds
tend westerly this afternoon about Taranaki.

Highs: 22-24

Wellington

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light northerly winds.

High: 20

Nelson

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light winds at first then afternoon
northerlies.

High: 21

Marlborough

Morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, light winds at first then
afternoon northerlies.

Highs: 21-22

Canterbury

Cloudy areas morning and night with afternoon sunny breaks. East to
northeast winds, a little breezy at times in the afternoon.

Highs: 18-19

West Coast

Areas of high cloud and sunny breaks at times, light northerly winds. Cloud
may be thicker morning and night especially about South Westland.

Highs: 18-19

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with a few sunny spells this afternoon, east to northeasterly
breezes.

High: 17

Southland & Central Otago

Areas of high cloud and sunny spells, light north to northeasterly
winds.

High: 21-22
