A ridge of high pressure brings mostly sunny weather to New Zealand today after a cool start. Areas of cloud catch the east coast of the North Island however.

Auckland & Northland
Mostly sunny with southerlies tending more southwest this afternoon for Auckland, winds will be light on Northland’s east coast.
Highs: 22-23

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with south to southeasterly breezes. Winds may tend northerly in the afternoon for the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 22-23

Eastern North Island

The odd shower about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne clears early afternoon, expect
cloudy periods from then with cool southerlies. The Wairarapa sees sunny spells
for much of the day, cloud thickens later in the evening however.
Highs: 19-21

Western North Island

Sunny with southeasterly breezes, winds tend a little more southerly about
Taranaki where they could be brisk at times.
Highs: 20-21

Wellington

Mostly sunny with southerly breezes, easing later in the day.
High: 18

Nelson

Sunny with light winds and afternoon sea breezes.
Highs: 20-22

Marlborough

Sunny with easterly breezes developing this morning.
Highs: 20-22

Canterbury

Sunny after a cool start, easterly breezes develop this morning. There may
be some evening cloud develop about the foothills then spread to the coast later
on.
Highs: 20-22

West Coast

Sunny with west to southwest breezes. Some cloud moves in overnight.
Highs: 18-20

Coastal Otago

Sunny with light winds, afternoon easterly breezes.
High: 19-21

Central Otago

Sunny with west to southwest breezes.
Highs: 24-26

Southland

Mostly sunny with westerly breezes.
High: 20
