A cold southerly airflow lies over the country tonight, winds will not be very strong though, infact light in many areas bringing a risk of frosts tomorrow morning about inland parts especially in the South Island.

Any cloud and the odd shower in the east clearing this evening, mainly clear skies otherwise with southerly winds.

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, cold south to southwesterly winds. A few
light snow flurries may make it down to 700m at times along the ranges.

near the coast with a few showers possible towards dawn especially on Banks
Peninsula with the odd snow flurries to 400m.

Coastal Otago
Periods of cloud, the odd shower and snow flurry is possible to 400m from
this evening then 300m overnight. Cold southwesterly winds.

Central Otago
Mainly clear although expect a period of cloud for a time, chance of a
shower in the east ovenight. Light winds tend southerly.
Tonight’s Lows: -3- -2
Southland
Any remaining showers clear this evening, cloud breaks up a little
overnight. Cold southwesterlies ease.

At least Aaron’s forecast is more specific than MetServices’s ones, and not SHORT and vague.
