An anticyclone over the North Island brings calm and clear skies tonight, frosty inland. A northwesterly airflow builds over the South Island with cloudy skies and patchy drizzle out west, some high cloud in the east.

Eastern North Island

Clear skies with light winds, northerlies about the Wairarapa. Some cloud
about Gisborne with the odd light shower clears towards dawn tomorrow.

Western North Island

Clear spells and some cloud, light northerlies. Winds tend southeast about
Taranaki.
