A northwesterly airflow lies over most of the country tonight with a ridge over the upper North Island. Eastern areas of both islands are dry although Dunedin southwards experiences rain. Rain for Southland too and the West Coast of the South Island.

Auckland & Northland

Clear spells, light southwesterlies ease this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-11

Bay Of Plenty

Mainly clear skies, west to southwest winds ease this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Waikato & Central North Island

Periods of cloud with westerly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies. Northwesterly winds ease this evening however remaining
gusty about the Wairarapa.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-12

Western North Island

Periods of cloud with west to northwesterly winds, chance of a light shower
about otherwise dry. Showers more likely towards dawn in Taranaki.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Wellington

Periods of cloud with north to northwesterly winds, gusty at times.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Nelson

Clear spells and some high cloud overnight, westerly quarter winds. A few
showers about the northwest Nelson ranges.

Tonight’s Low: 11

Marlborough

West to northwest winds with mainly clear skies, some high cloud.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Canterbury

High cloud with northwesterly winds, gusty at times.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-12

West Coast

Rain, heavy about South Westland with possible thunderstorms.
Northwesterlies, changing southwest about Fiordland overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Coastal Otago

Cloudy with showers developing Dunedin southwards this evening. Light winds
tending southerly for a time.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Central Otago

Fairly cloudy with rain in the west and drier conditions out east. West to
northwest winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 8

Southland

Rain, easing later this evening for a time then picking up again overnight
possibly heavy. Light winds.

Tonight’s Low: 7
