A frontal system moves onto the North Island tonight bringing rain or showers for most. For the South Island conditions look mainly wet in Canterbury and Marlborough, elsewhere sees showers mostly clearing this evening. The West Coast will become mainly clear.

Auckland & Northland
Periods of cloud with the odd shower possible, rain moves in later this evening or overnight. Light west to northwest winds.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Becoming mostly cloudy this evening with showers moving in, overnight rain. Light northwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-11

Eastern North Island

Areas of high cloud, showers spread into the Wairarapa this evening then
later overnight into Hawkes Bay. Light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Western North Island
Periods of rain with light northwesterly winds, winds
tend more westerly about Taranaki.

Wellington

Cloudy with the odd shower, rain develops overnight as light northerlies
tend southerly.

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower clearing this evening, light winds.

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, mainly overnight. Light winds.

Canterbury

Cloudy with showers about, some rain later this evening for a time. Ligth
southwesterlies.

Clear or skies becoming clear this evening, light winds.
