A southwesterly airflow eases over the country tonight, showers will still affect Banks Peninsula northwards along a few coastal areas tonight and Auckland northwards in the north. Overall this period of rough weather is coming to an end and some regions like Central Otago will wake up to a frosty start tomorrow.

Auckland & Northland
Clear spells with southwesterly winds easing this evening about Auckland, chance of a shower or two later this evening and overnight. Northland sees cloudy periods and showers at times, easing this evening however the odd one may continue overnight.

Bay Of Plenty

Clear skies, west to southwest winds die away this evening.
Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Waikato & Central North Island

Areas of high cloud moving away this evening to clear skies, remaining
showers in the west and south of the Central North Island clearing this evening
also. West to southwest winds ease overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 2-4

Eastern North Island

Showers about Wairarapa, any remaining showers about Hawkes Bay and
Gisborne clear this evening with clear spells increasing. West to southwest
winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 6-8

Western North Island

Cloudy periods with occasional showers, southwesterly winds. Mainly clear
skies about northern Taranaki with southwesterlies tending southyeast there
overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Wellington

Periods of rain with brisk southerly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Nelson

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud, light southwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Marlborough

Showers clearing this evening with cloud breaking overnight, showers may
remain on the coast south of Clifford Bay and about southern Marlborough
overnight however although they will ease. Light winds, southwesterly on the
coast.
Tonight’s Lows: 4-6

Canterbury

Cloudy with showers, mainly Mid Canterbury northwards clearing later this
evening. Showers about coastal North Canterbury and Banks Peninsula may not
clear till tomorrow morning. Breezy southwesterly winds ease overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

West Coast

Clear skies with southeasterly winds dying away overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 5-6

Coastal Otago

Cloud breaking up overnight, southwesterlies ease.
Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

Central Otago

Clear or skies becoming clear this evening, light winds and frosty
tonight.
Tonight’s Lows: -1-2

Southland

Cloud clearing away tonight, light southeasterlies die away.
Tonight’s Low: 2
