Trpoical low June moves away to the east of the North Island tonight with strong winds easing for most regions later this evening. The South Island sees cloud in the east gradually break up overnight, clear spells in the west with light winds tending westerly.

Clear spells increase from this evening Strong southwest winds ease, light
winds overnight tend westerly.
Tonight’s Lows: 15-17

Auckland

Strong southwesterly winds, gusting to gale force at times ease later this
evening. Cloudy spells with the odd shower still possible otherwise mainly
dry.

Central North Island, Waikato &
Bay Of Plenty

Remaining showers about the Central North Island and Bay Of Plenty clear
this evening, expect areas of cloud otherwise with strong westerly winds easing
later this evening and overnight.

Eastern North Island

Showers clear this evening then clear spells develop overnight, brisk
southwesterlies ease overnight.

Western North Island

Occasional showers clearing this evening, south to southwesterly winds tend
more westerly overnight. A few showers possible again towards dawn tomorrow
morning.

Wellington

Showers with brisk to strong southerlies easing this evening, any remaining
showers after midnight clear.

Clear spells with northerlies easing this evening, light winds
overnight.

Cloudy areas may break up a little overnight, easterly breezes ease.

Any remaining drizzle clears this evening, cloudy spells break up a little
overnight. Easterly breezes ease.

West Coast

Clear spells overnight with any isolated showers clearing this evening,
west to southwest breezes. Cloud thickens a little towards dawn for South
Westland with winds tending northerly there.

Coastal Otago

Cloudy periods breaking up overnight, northeasterly breezes easing.

Central Otago

Clear areas and some cloud, cloud breaking up overnight with south to
southwesterly winds easing this evening.

Southland

Skies becoming mainly clear this evening with southerlies easing, light
winds overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 9
