Tuesday Newsfeed: High pressure crosses, then exits, NZ

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Light winds are the order of the day for most parts of NZ today as high pressure smothers the nation.

High pressure can also bring low cloud and fog patches, especially inland and western areas.

Dry weather dominates.

On Wednesday the high shifts eastwards and that allows a milder northerly flow to kick in, and this will be windiest in the lower half of the South Island as rain approaches Fiordland
