As we alluded to during the week a high is rolling in this weekend – but a few leftover showers are still moving through in the southerly quarter wind flow.
As of 1pm light showers were moving in off the Tasman Sea and into western Northland. A few are in the north west of the Auckland region – expect a continuation of sun and cloud this afternoon with a low risk of an isolated light shower coming off the Tasman Sea in a breezy sou’wester.
The Tasman Sea has a 50/50 mix of clear spells and cloud and some of these cloudy areas do contain a few showers this afternoon, potentially affecting western Waikato down towards north Taranaki – it won’t be much though overall.
A couple of light showers are also affecting the West Coast and potentially Southland – like other parts of NZ with a shower risk today, they won’t be much and generally speaking it’s a dry day.
Sunday looks even drier – with some cloudy areas, particularly in the west.
