A low pressure system passes out to the east of the country today, skies over New Zealand while becoming settled for a time there will still be plenty of cloud about and still the odd shower too mainly in the west.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato, CNI & BOP
Any morning showers clear mainly about and south of Waikato then expect sunny and cloudy spells with southwest breezes. Auckland and western Northland may receive a few afternoon showers. Winds tend northerly at night about Northland.
Highs: 18-22

Eastern North Island
Morning showers clear however still plenty of cloud for the rest of the day, there may be a brief afternoon sunny spell or two. Southwest breezes.
Highs: 21-22

Western North Island
Morning showers clear then a few sunny spells develop in the afternoon, still plenty of cloud however. Westerly breezes.
Highs: 17-19

Wellington
Morning showers clear then expect sunny and cloudy spells, southerly breezes.
Highs: 16-17

Nelson
Cloudy periods with the odd sunny spell at times, light winds. Chance of an evening shower.
Highs: 19-20

Canterbury & Marlborough
Any morning showers clear then sunny spells develop. Southerly breezes about Canterbury, dying out in the evening for a time. Winds becoming light for Marlborough in the morning
Highs: 15-17

West Coast
A few morning showers clear then expect sunny spells and some cloud with light winds.
Highs: 18-19

Southland & Otago
Chance of a morning shower then expect sunny spells and some cloud, light southerly quarter winds.
Highs: 13-15
