A front moves over the North Island today gradually weakening as the day goes along meanwhile a southerly airflow covers the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Morning rain eases to showers which clear in the evening as northerlies change southwest. Showers may not clear the Bay Of Plenty till overnight.
Highs: 20-23

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Showers or areas of rain, clearing in the evening. Northerlies change southeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-20

Eastern North Island

Early spots of rain clear then becoming mostly sunny during the morning, breezy northwesterlies. Showers move into the Wairarapa by midday then further north later in the afternoon with a southwest change.
Highs: 22-26

Wellington

Rain, gradually easing and clearing in the evening. Breezy northerlies change gusty southerly in the morning.
High: 17

Marlborough & Nelson

Showers, clearing in the afternoon then cloud breaks away later in the evening. Cool southerly winds develop in the morning.
Highs: 17-18

Canterbury

Showers, clearing in the afternoon then cloud breaks in the evening as cool southerlies tend northeast.
High: 14-16

West Coast

Morning cloud with the chance of a shower then a mostly sunny afternoon, southeasterly winds ease.
Highs: 21-24

Southland & Otago

Cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather by midday, southerlies tend northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 16-20
