A southwesterly airflow eases over New Zealand today with just the odd shower about, gradually clearing, mainly about some North Island regions and the far south of the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas, the odd morning shower possible otherwise mainly dry. Southwesterly winds die out later in the day.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Chance of an early shower otherwise mainly dry with sunny spells increasing. Southwest winds dying out by evening.
Highs: 12-15
 
Eastern North Island
Sunny first thing, then some cloud develops during the morning (with the low risk of a shower) as southwesterlies freshen. Cloud breaks away later in the evening.
High: 14
 
Wellington
Mainly sunny with southerly winds dying away in the evening.
High: 13
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light southwest winds.
Highs: 13-14
 
Canterbury
Sunny with southwesterly winds dying out in the morning.
High: 12
 
West Coast
Mostly sunny with southwesterly winds, dying out later in the day.
Highs: 10-12
 
Southland & Otago
Mainly sunny weather, perhaps an early clearing shower about Southland and coastal Otago. Westerly winds ease later in the day.
