A high sits out in the Tasman Sea today while a west to southwesterly airflow lies over most of New Zealand, mainly sunny in the east while cloudy areas can be expected out west.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy areas with occasional sun, sun more likely about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty. Southwesterly breezes.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mainly sunny with light winds, tending southwest about Taranaki.
Highs: 18-20

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light southerlies in the morning tending easterly in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-19

Wellington

Mainly sunny with light winds, tending southerly for a time.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with afternoon east to northeasterly winds.

High: 19-20

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with easterly winds picking up along the coast in the afternoon, further inland winds remain lighter.
Highs: 16-17

West Coast

Cloudy areas with west to southwesterly winds, chance of the odd shower otherwise mainly dry.
High: 14-15

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with west to northwesterly winds, northeasterlies along the Otago coastline this afternoon. Some cloud about Southland.
Highs: 16-19
