A colder southwesterly airflow lies over the country today, most regions will see showers for a time today.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Winds change gusty southwest in the morning bringing a few showers, afternoon sunny areas with the odd shower possibly remaining although becoming fairly dry for most.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Winds change southwest early in the morning bringing showers which clear in the afternoon for most, a few isolated showers may hang around inland areas till evening, becoming cold overnight.
Highs: 14-15

Eastern North Island

Winds change southwest in the morning bringing showers which then clear in the evening.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Cloudy areas with the chance of a shower in the morning, southerly winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas with east to southeasterly winds, a few isolated showers possible in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with cloud a little more frequent from afternoon, isolated showers possible in the afternoon mainly inland. Breezy southwest winds.
High: 14

West Coast

A few morning showers clear then expect sunny areas, breezy southwesterly winds ease later in the day.
High: 14

Southland & Otago

Morning cloud with showers, clearing in the afternoon with a few sunny areas breaking through. Breezy west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-13
