An anticyclone brings mainly settled conditions to New Zealand today, some cloud in the far north may deliver a light shower or two in the east. Meanwhile a low brews in the Tasman Sea.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Areas of cloud and some sun about Northland and Auckland, chance of a light shower in the east. Mostly sunny elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

A mainly sunny day with southeasterly winds dying out around midday. Northerly quarter winds from afternoon.
Highs: 14-15

Eastern North Island

A mainly sunny day after any early cloud clears, light winds.
Highs: 12-13

Wellington

Sunny with northerly winds by midday.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

A mainly sunny day, light winds.
Highs: 13-16

Canterbury

Sunny with light winds, afternoon easterlies near the coast.

West Coast

Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas, some high cloud later in the day. Light winds.
