A southwesterly airflow lies over the country today, a front clears the northeast of the North Island early this morning meanwhile a few showers affect the south and east of the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Any early rain clears eastern Bay Of Plenty otherwise expect sunny areas for all with gentle southwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas with westerly quarter winds.
Highs: 13-15

Eastern North Island

Early rain clears Gisborne, otherwise expect a sunny day with light winds.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northwesterly winds changing southerly in the afternoon.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny weather with light west to southwest winds, chance of a few evening showers about southern Marlborough.
Highs: 14-16

Canterbury

Some morning sun then a few showers move through during the afternoon. Southwesterly winds develop.
High: 12

West Coast

Some morning rain easing to the odd shower which clears in the evening, westerly quarter winds.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

Morning showers clearing, remaining fairly cloudy for the rest of the day but there may be some late sun. Cool southwesterlies ease.
Highs: 8-9
