A high sits to the northeast of New Zealand while a northwesterly airflow increases over the country. A mostly sunny day out east with cloud and some wet weather moving into a few western regions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud or mist then sunny areas develop, sun may not break through till afternoon for some mainly inland. Light winds.

High: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Areas of cloud and some occasional sun, west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-14

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds, northwesterlies pick up about the Wairarapa in the afternoon.
Highs: 15-16

Wellington

Sunny areas and some cloud, northwesterly winds becoming gusty from afternoon. Becoming cloudy overnight.
Highs: 13-14

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with north to northwesterly winds picking up from afternoon and becoming gusty. High cloud thickens overnight.
Highs: 13-16

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning then northerlies pick up from afternoon especially inland. Some high cloud later in the evening.
Highs: 13-14

West Coast

Mostly cloudy, a few light showers about then rain moves into South Westland in the afternoon spreading into North Westland in the evening. Heavy rain overnight. Increasing northerly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud with northerly winds, a few spots of rain later in the evening about Southland and inland Otago then some rain moves in overnight for those areas.
Highs: 11-13
