An easterly quarter windlow lies over most of New Zealand today, fairly cloudy too although Southland and Central Otago may see a few sunny areas. A front lies over the Central North Island bringing some rain.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy with patchy showers or rain Auckland southwards, northwesterly winds.
Highs: 22-26

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Periods of rain with northwesterly winds, rain heavier in the morning from Taranaki southwards in the west then easing becoming patchier by midday before picking up again in the evening.
Highs: 19-21

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy, spells of rain with southerlies about the Wairarapa and
northwesterly winds further north. Southerlies push into the Hawkes Bay in the
afternoon and into Gisborne for a brief time in the evening.
Highs: 19-23

Wellington

Morning rain eases to the odd shower, long dry spells in the afternoon.
Remaining mostly cloudy with southerly winds. Later in the evening or overnight
rain moves in again.
Highs: 17-18

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning rain eases to the odd shower, long dry spells in
the afternoon then showers pick up again later in the evening. Southeasterly
winds.

Highs: 18-20

Canterbury

Cloudy with northeasterly winds, breezy in the afternoon. A few drizzle
patches possible then a spell of evening showers.
High: 16

West Coast

A few early sunny areas then cloud increasing towards midday, easterly
winds. Northerlies from afternoon with patchy showers moving in.
Highs: 20-21

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy with a few sunny spells about Southland and Central Otago,
easterly quarter winds. Evening rain for Central Otago then overnight
elsewhere.
Highs: 15-19
