Humid east to northeast winds cause some unstable weather over the North Island today especially in the west, the South Island is looking a little quieter however the could still be a few isolated showers about mainly inland Cantebrury and Buller.

Auckland & Northland
Cloudy areas and occasional sunny spells, a few isolated showers possible mainly late afternoon / evening especially in the west. Easterly winds. Northland has a risk of showers too but it is a lower risk.
High: 25

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy periods and with easterly winds, chance of a shower or two mainly
morning near the coast and then afternoon further inland otherwise dry.
High: 23

Western North Island (including Waikato)

Cloudy periods with a few showers about, many dry areas about too. In the
afternoon isolated showers could become heavy with thunderstorms then easing and
clearing in the evening. The Central North Island is looking to have similar
weather as above but the shower risk is less, showers look better more in the
west. Winds mainly light.
Highs: 22-26

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with northeasterly breezes, showers at times with dry areas
too. Showers are looking to have a tendancy to be more coastal in the morning
then becoming more restricted to the ranges / inland areas in the
afternoon.
Highs: 22-23

Wellington

Sunny areas and some cloud, a few isolated showers possible late afternoon
/ evening mainly inland.
High: 20

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny weather with any early cloud clearing, east to northeast
breezes pick up a little around midday. Low risk of an isolated shower late
afternoon or evening inland about hills / ranges.
Highs: 21-24

Canterbury

Sunny areas and some cloud with east to northeast winds, breezy about the
coast in the afternoon. Chance of an isolated shower inland about the foothills
late afternoon / evening with lighter winds and warmer temperatures.
Highs: 19-23

West Coast

Mostly sunny weather with light winds, a few clouds build about the ranges
in the afternoon bringing the risk of an isolated shower mainly about inland
Buller. Showers may become heavy with a risk of thunderstorms.
Highs: 19-23

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with a little high cloud about mainly later in the day, light
winds and afternoon sea breezes for coastal areas.
Highs: 21-23
