A west to southwest airflow continues to flow over the country today, most regions are dry and fairly sunny. The main exception being the West Coast of the South Island which sees fairly cloudy skies and drizzle developing.

Northland
Sunny with light west to southwest winds, cloud builds later in the evening / overnight.
Highs: 18-19

Auckland

Mostly sunny with southwesterly breezes. Cloud thickens overnight.
High: 17

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with west to southwesterly winds, cloud develops overnight.
Highs: 20

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny with westerly winds, cloud thickens later in the evening.
Highs: 17-19

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds tending northeasterly along the coast, some high
cloud develops later in the evening. Northwesterlies freshen about the Wairarapa
from afternoon then further north later in the day.
Highs: 18-20

Taranaki

Sunny spells with westerly winds, cloud thickens in the evening.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island

Sunny areas and some cloud with northwesterly winds, cloud thickens in the
evening.
High: 18

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northwesterly winds building from afternoon, cloud
increases from evening.
High: 16

Nelson

Mostly sunny with high cloud increasing from afternoon, southwesterlies at
first then northwesterly winds develop from midday.
Highs: 18-19

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with light winds at first, northwesterlies freshen from
afternoon. High cloud later in the day.
Highs: 21-22

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with light northeasterlies near the coast tending northwest in
the evening, some high cloud. Northwesterlies inland for much of the day
becoming gusty later on.
Highs: 18-20

West Coast

Becoming mostly cloudy in the morning, drizzle patches develop about South
Westland in the afternoon then further north later in the evening / overnight.
Northwesterlies freshen.
Highs: 13-14

Coastal Otago

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, light winds. A few showers move in
overnight.
High: 17

Central Otago

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, northwesterly winds freshen. Rain
develops around midnight.
Highs: 14-15

Southland

Plenty of high cloud with freshening northwesterlies, late evening winds
change brisk westerly with rain then easing to showers.
High: 16
