strong easterly winds.

Waikato & Central North Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells around midday, east to northeast winds
brisk about the Waikato.

Eastern North Island

Morning drizzle clears then a few sunny spells may sneak through from
afternoon, plenty of cloud about still. Breezy northeasterlies.
Highs: 14-15

Taranaki

Some early morning rain clears then sunny spells increase, brisk
northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Western North Island

Thick high cloud at first then decreasing in the afternoon, easterly
winds.
High: 16

Wellington

Plenty of high cloud, northeasterly winds.
High: 14

Nelson

Mostly cloudy with northeasterly winds, a few morning drizzle patches clear
then moving in again overnight.

Marlborough

Plenty of high cloud with northeasterly winds.

Canterbury

Thick high cloud with breezy northeasterlies, a few late spots of rain
possible especially inland.

West Coast

Mostly cloudy with northeasterlies, about North Westland a few morning
showers clear then developing again in the evening. Expect occasional showers
about South Westland from morning then rain by evening.

Thick high cloud with breezy northeasterly winds.

Plenty of high cloud with light northerlies, a few brief spells of rain in
the afternoon then again overnight (mainly in the west).
