A northeasterly airflow continues over the country tonight, most places are cloudy with rain or showers mainly affecting western regions.

Northland

Cloudy with periods of rain, heavy at times especially in the east. Brisk to strong northeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Auckland

Cloudy with the odd shower, mainly in the north. Strong northeasterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower or drizzle patch, brisk east to northeast
winds. Conditions drier about eastern Bay Of Plenty.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Waikato & Central North Island

Cloudy periods with breezy east to northeast winds, the odd shower possible
mainly about the Waikato.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-10

Eastern North Island

Cloudy areas with the odd drizzle patch clearing by midnight, cloud
breaking up a little overnight. Breezy northeasterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Taranaki

Mostly cloudy with brisk to strong northeasterlies, the odd shower near the
coast in the north of the district becoming a little more widespread
overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Western North Island

Clear spells with east to northeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Wellington

Some high cloud, the odd shower possible overnight. Northeasterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Nelson

Mostly cloudy with rain moving in around midnight, rain may become heavy.
Northeasterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Marlborough

Mostly cloudy, a few spells of rain move in overnight especially about the
Sounds. Light winds freshen from the northeast later.

Tonight’s Low: 7

Canterbury

Thick high cloud, a few brief spells of rain possible (mainly inland
spreading off the alps). Breezy northeasterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 8

West Coast

Periods of rain with northeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with breezy northeasterlies, a few spots of rain
possible.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Central Otago

Plenty of high cloud with northeasterlies, a few brief spells of rain at
times (mainly in the west).

Tonight’s Lows: 5-6

Southland

Plenty of high cloud, a few spots of rain. Northeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 5
