A ridge brings mainly settled weather to the South Island tonight although expect areas of cloud and the odd clearing shower for parts of Canterbury and Marlborough. For the North Island a southeasterly airflow continues, showers in the east, showers or rain out west clearing for most.

Northland

Clear spells with light winds tending southeasterly overnight, the odd shower possible.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-10

Auckland

A few showers, some may be heavy then clearing overnight.
Southeasterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Bay Of Plenty

Rain with heavy falls easing this evening then clearing later or overnight,
east to southeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Waikato & Central North Island

Areas of rain, heavy for some then easing this evening and clearing.
Southeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-9

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with breezy easterlies, occasional rain.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Western North Island

Cloudy periods with any remaining showers clearing this evening, cloud
breaks overnight. Southeasterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Wellington

Cloudy with the odd shower clearing later this evening or overnight, cloud
then gradually breaks. Southeasterlies ease.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Nelson

Cloudy periods breaking up overnight, southeasterly winds ease later.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Marlborough

Cloudy with the odd shower, clearing later this evening or overnight then
cloud breaking up. Southeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 7

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy with light east to northeast winds, drizzle patches nearer
the coast north of about Rakaia clearing later this evening or overnight.

West Coast

Clear skies with southeasterlies easing this evening.

Coastal Otago

Mainly clear skies with northeasterlies easing this evening.

Central Otago

Clear skies with light winds, foggy areas may develop overnight.

Southland

Clear skies with light winds, foggy areas may develop overnight.
