A ridge covers the South Island tonight bringing mainly clear skies and light winds, this does mean cold overnight lows however. For the North Island conditions are clearing up in the west while along the east coast rain eases this evening to showers.

Clear and cool about Auckland with southwesterlies easing this evening, light winds overnight. Showers, some heavy about Northland clearing this evening, southwesterly winds.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Clear skies with south to southwesterly winds easing this evening, winds
may tend southeast overnight. East of Lake Taupo areas of cloud decrease
overnight.

Eastern North Island

Rain easing this evening, south to southwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 9

Western North Island

Cloudy spells with showers about Taranaki and Kapiti clearing this evening.
South to southeasterly winds (brisk about Taranaki) easing later this
evening.

Wellington

Cloudy with showers mostly clearing this evening, the odd one may remain
overnight. Southerly winds.

Clear skies with light winds.
