Rain in the west of the North Island Auckland southwards through to Taranaki mostly clearing this evening but the odd shower may still remain, fairly dry elsewhere. For the South Island skies are dry in the east, the odd shower on the West Coast gradually turns to rain overnight, especially about Fiordland at first.

Periods of cloud, chance of a shower this evening then clearing. Light winds.

Auckland

Periods of cloud and the odd shower (especially in the south), clearing
this evening. West to southwest winds ease a little this evening.
Tonight’s Low: 15

Bay Of Plenty

Areas of rain ease then clear this evening, cloud breaks up a little
overnight. Light westerlies.
Tonight’s Low: 15

Waikato & Central North Island

Cloudy with areas of rain about the Waikato and north of Lake Taupo mostly
clearing this evening, the odd shower could remain. Westerly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-13

Eastern North Island

Areas of high cloud with light northwesterlies, building a little about
Wairarapa overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Western North Island

Cloudy with westerly winds and the odd brief shower about. Some rain about
Taranaki (especially in the north) eases away this evening.
Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Wellington

Cloudy with northerly winds, chance of a brief shower about otherwise
dry.
Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Nelson

Clear areas and thickening high cloud, light northerlies ease away later.
Some rain possible towards dawn tomorrow.

Marlborough

Clear areas and thickening high cloud, light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Canterbury

Periods of cloud an a few clear spells, light winds in general tending
easterly near the coast. Northwesterlies pick up inland overnight.

West Coast

Cloudy with the odd shower, light northerlies. Rain moves into Fiordland
overnight then further north by dawn.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with easterly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 10

Central Otago

Areas of high cloud thickening, a few spots of rain spreading from the west
about western parts of the district (i.e. the Southern Lakes area). Light west
to northwest winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Southland

High cloud with light winds tending easterly overnight, a few spots of rain
at times from later this evening.
Tonight’s Low: 10
