A ridge lies over the country tonight bringing mainly settled conditions. An upper cold pool of air has produced heavy showers and thunderstorms across parts of the upper North Island today and they will clear away this evening.

Northland

Clear spells and periods of cloud, isolated showers in the west with some heavy falls clearing away this evening. East to southeast winds ease this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Auckland

Showers, some heavy clearing this evening. Light winds.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy spells with light winds, chance of a late isolated shower then
clearing.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Waikato & Central North Island

Areas of cloud. Isolated showers, especially for Waikato and western parts
of the Central North Island with heavy falls and thunderstorms clearing away
this evening. Low cloud or fog patches possible overnight with light
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-10

Eastern North Island

Clear spells and some cloud, easterlies ease this evening. Cloudier skies
about northern Hawkes Bay northwards with the odd shower.

Tonight’s Low: 11-12

Western North Island

Mainly clear skies, east to southeast winds ease this evening Manawatu
southwards. Light winds overnight with the chance of a fog patch. Westerlies
about northern Taranaki ease this evening. Heavy isolated showers, possibly
thundery about inland northern Taranaki clearing away this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-12

Wellington

Mainly clear skies, southerly winds ease this evening and may tend light
northerly later.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Nelson

Mainly clear skies, light northerlies ease this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Marlborough

Clear skies, easterlies ease this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Canterbury

Mainly clear skies, easterlies about the coast ease this evening. There may
be some low cloud or fog patches overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

West Coast

Cloudy areas with light winds, drizzle patches about Fiordland.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Coastal Otago

Mainly clear with some high cloud, chance of low cloud overnight. Light
easterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies with light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Southland

Mainly clear skies with southerlies easing away this evening, light winds
overnight with some low cloud possible.

Tonight’s Low: 12
